Local children and their families can get outdoors and enjoy end-of-summer activities at a couple of events happening on the same day in mid-September.
Children 16 years old and younger and their families can sign up for Conroe’s annual free KidFish for a morning of hands-on fishing. Participants can bring their own fishing equipment and bait or opt for the bait and poles that will be provided.
Fish will be measured at noon and trophies and prizes will be awarded.
The KidFish outreach program is a non-profit designed to educate the public about our local natural resources and the environment. It does this by creating an experience for children that hopefully they remember for life.
Kids that win competitions such as these like to have their pictures taken along with their trophies or prizes. Proud moms and dads often take the pictures to local Print shops to arrange duplicate Copies.
KidFish will be from 9:00 am until noon at Carl Barton, Jr. Park 2500 South Loop 336 East on September 12.
Starting at 11:00 am the Conroe Noon Kiwanis Club will sponsor its annual Kids Day at the Park. This too will be free and take place at the Carl Barton, Jr. Park.
Some activities will include bounce houses, a rock wall, petting zoo, rain rides, moon walks, and food. City of Conroe Fire and Police vehicles will be on display. Things should wind down around 2:00 pm.
