The Fiesta & Fajita Cook-off is coming in late May. The event will be free and a fundraiser for Operation Pets Alive.
Guests will get to shop from local artisan vendors selling Mexican, Latin American and South American pet-related products and other merchandise. Live music performances, including dance presentations from groups such as the Ballet Folklorico Herencia Mexicana de Houston, will take place, and a DJ from Univision Radio 106.5 FM will entertain the crowd.
Along with tastings from the Fajita Cook-off, the venue will have food trucks offering ‘South of the Border’ cuisine such as churros. There will be dog training demonstrations, and a spay and neuter information booth.
Dogs arrayed in fiesta colors are invited to be part of the Fiesta Pet parade and Costume Contest. Pet adoptions will be available onsite and a pet kissing booth will also be available. Pet lovers who get pictures taken with their animal buddies often take the pictures to local Print shops to get some poster printing done.
The event will have a silent auction of baskets full of goodies donated by local businesses, clubs and individuals, a raffle, face painting, balloon animals and a tattoo booth. OPA will also be holding a bake sale.
The Fiesta & Fajita Cook-off will be at Heritage Place Park, 500 Collins Street and is scheduled for May 25 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
