Conroe Christmas begins with tree lighting ceremony

Conroe’s Christmas on Main and Christmas tree lighting ceremony has been scheduled for the end of November, with the Toby Powell Conroe Christmas Celebration coming in mid-December. Traditionally, these events mark the start of the holiday season.

For Christmas on Main, Main Street Shops will be decorated for the season with window art and will remain open late for those wishing to get a head start on their Christmas lists. There will also be treats and games from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

That evening will also see the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony take place. A Children’s Choir will have a half-hour performance before the tree lighting ceremony at 6:00 pm. Everyone is invited to take pictures of friends and family in front of the lit tree. Families that get their winter pictures taken at events such this often take the photos to nearby Print shops to have them made into Holiday Cards.

The big night will be November 30 at Heritage Place, 500 Metcalf Street.

Shortly after, Downtown Conroe really gets into full holiday mode with its annual Toby Powell Conroe Christmas Celebration. Activities here will include inflatables, snow slides, a Ferris wheel, merchant booths, camel and train rides, a petting zoo, a live nativity scene, and time with Mrs. Claus and Santa.

Kiwanis Christmas Parade decked out in Christmas-themed floats will begin at 1:00 pm on December 11.
