The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion will present two performances of iconic music giants – one ‘The Music of John Williams’ and the other ‘The Music of Tom Petty’ – as part of its 30th Performing Arts Season.
The first performance of the season will be on March 21 and will be presented by Boston Pops on Tour. The Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of the orchestra’s principal conductor Keith Lockhart, will play excerpts of Williams’ well-known compositions such as The Theme to Star Wars, E.T., Harry Potter, and Indiana Jones. Gates open at 6:30 pm with the performance starting at 7:30 pm.
On April 20, the Houston Symphony will pay tribute to a rock legend in its presentation of The Music of Tom Petty. Brent Havens has arranged the music and will be conducting. Conroe fans will be treated to Petty classics such as Free Fallin’, Refugee, American Girl, and The Waiting. This time the gates will open at 7:00 pm and the performance will begin at 8:00 pm. Tickets to the performance will be $50 for Orchestra Reserved Seating 1 and $35 for Orchestra Reserved Seating 2. Tickets for the mezzanine and lawn will be free for both shows. Orchestra seating for the Petty performance will run at $20.
