Conroe area celebrates the 4th

The 4th of July will be here shortly. Many here in town will be heading over to the concert, celebration, and parade in the Woodlands.

Fourth of July celebrations will actually start July third. Star Spangled Salute in Cynthia Woods Pavilion will feature the Houston Symphony. The symphony will perform patriotic songs as part of its annual “Star Spangled Salute,” and the audience will be invited to join in an American Classics singalong. Admission will be free and gates will open at 6:30 pm. Concert starts at 8:00 pm.

Conroe families will be among spectators lining Market Street in the Woodland Town Center at 9 am on the 4th to watch the 2019 4th of July Parade. The parade theme this year will be “United We Stand.” Around 145 parade entries will vie for the awards that will be given in eleven categories. Units in parades such as this usually get their banner printing done early to be sure they have Banners to introduce themselves to the spectators.

Kids will want to get their bikes decorated for the “Things That Go’” bike parade at Northshore Park. Festivities there will begin at 5:30 pm. There will be a free concert afterward.

The 19th annual Red Hot and Blue Festival will be in full swing on the 4th starting at 6:00 pm. This will be in the Woodlands Town Center. The evening will close with fireworks.
