Independence Day here in Conroe will be celebrated this year with Woodforest National Bank’s Conroe’s Stars and Stripes Celebration on one day, and the South County 4th of July Parade on another.
On Saturday, July 2, Downtown Conroe will hold its annual Conroe Stars and Stripes Celebration. Guests will be treated to inflatables, summer treats sold by food trucks, and patriotic or summer-themed items sold by local vendors.
Children’s activities will run from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and the City of Conroe Honor Guard will arrive at 6:45 pm. The Daybreak Chorus will sing at 7:00 pm, followed by the Montgomery County Choral Society with Symphony at 7:30 pm. The Conroe Symphony Orchestra will play at 8:00 pm, right before the fireworks at 9:15 pm.
Conroe Stars and Stripes Celebration will take place at Heritage Park, 500 Metcalf Street, wrapping up at around 10:30 pm.
On July 4 itself, the Woodlands will be holding its annual South County 4th of July Parade. This year, the theme will be “Stronger Together.”
The event will start at 9:00 am when the national anthem will be sung from the Town Green Park balcony on Market Street.
The parade route will be 1.3 miles long and will feature marching bands, floats, entertainers, fire engines, elected officials, dignitaries, and military members.
Bands that participate in parades like this often get some red, white, and blue banner printing done beforehand.
