Kingsport’s biggest summer event has announced an ambitious lineup this year as Fun Fest will return for a nine-day celebration.
The festival will kick off with a “block party” weekend in communities across Kingsport. Individuals can sign up for friendly competitions like an adult one-pitch softball tournament, a “Little Miss Fun Fest” pageant, or the “Pickle in the Park” pickleball showdown. One of the most unique events is the Trash Barrel Paint-In, where hundreds of participants will paint their own designs on the trash cans that will be used during the Fest.
Fun Fest will include the Sunset Concert Series, featuring musical artists new and classic playing their hits. There will be three concerts across the festival’s second weekend, beginning with performances by Jeremy Camp and Katy Nichole. Friday night will feature rock performances by Daughtry and and Switchfoot, while Saturday will be headlined by country stars Leann Rimes and the Brothers Osborne.
This year’s edition of Fun Fest will also include historic and educational events coinciding with America’s 250th anniversary. Historian Leslie Goddard will bring the life of Civil War nurse Clara Barton to life in a special show, while the Rediscover Kingsport Scavenger Hunt will highlight local history and culture. Events like this may use everything from brochure printing to re-enactment, communicating in multiple media.
The 2026 Kingsport Fun Fest will take place from July 17 to 25 at J. Fred Johnson Stadium and other areas.
