A well-respected Southern candy franchise, River Street Sweets - Savannah’s Candy Kitchen, is being opened downtown by Lisa Warriner, a long-time resident of Greenville.
The new establishment will be located on Main Street and offer the same confectionaries of the original store that opened in Savannah in 1973. Beginning February 8, chocolate Loggerheads, handmade; World Famous Pralines®, ice cream and gelato, also handmade will be just a few of the sweets offered.
The franchise is the result of merger of two highly respected and well-known brands of gourmet candy. River Street Sweets® as well as Savannah’s Candy Kitchen were each part of the Strickland family holdings and after nearly 20 years of operating separately, the family decided to merge them
The result of the merging was River Street Sweets - Savannah's Candy Kitchen, which became a franchising opportunity where Southern candies are handmade and crafted in front of visitors to the shop. In addition to serving customers in person the company also enjoys a strong web-ordering and nationwide mail program.
The more exclusive members of a craft, such as chocolatier, often include stylish Business Cards in with some orders to add to the customer’s experience as well as to promote themselves.
The corporation owns over a dozen locations across Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. Its business plan calls for additional growth in Georgia, Florida and Texas in addition to tourism locations across the nation.
