What's Happening in Greenville, SC…

An early March event is bringing a crafting project with special results to Greenville.

Junk Jewelry is an art lesson from Jill Barnett Art. Barnett is an artist who works in several mediums. In addition to her regular work in painting, ink drawings, and ceramics, Barnett runs art workshops featuring a variety of projects.

Many of these crafts are meant to be simple enough to be approachable for people who don’t necessarily have a ton of experience. This makes these classes something that groups can try as an inclusive and relaxing social gathering.

In this activity, participants will make bracelets, bag charms, and earrings from trinkets like plastic animal figurines, beads, or playing cards. The idea with “junk jewelry” is to repurpose items which would otherwise go to waste or just sit on a shelf. The nature of the materials used makes each item more unique.

Tickets are available via EventBrite. Individual passes are $15. Also available is a “two for one” deal, with each ticket costing only $12.50. Refunds can be granted until five days prior to the lesson, should the need arise.

The venue will be Greenville’s Wild Yarrow Brewing. Many crafting activities use flyer printing as an advertising method. The experience will be running between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm. The activity is scheduled for the date of March 10th.
