High school in Greenville hosts first mattress fundraiser

The first school on Greenville County to hold a fundraising event with BoosterBeds will be Wade Hampton High School.

According to a member of BoosterBeds, Robert Wilson, the organization works with schools and other nonprofits to create a program whereby high-quality bedding products, including mattresses that are made locally, can be sold through retail means and online. It is a new way for schools to raise money without selling unhealthy foods by promoting a healthier lifestyle.

BoosterBeds, which is a division of American Dream Crafter, LLC based in Greenville, has about 20 mattresses from large manufacturers like King Koil and American Dream Crafter itself. It also sells mattress toppers, protectors, and pillows.

Wilson added that BoosterBeds takes care of all the planning for the event, including set-up and handling the money. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for the school, so they benefit from all money raised. There are discounts of up to 60% off regular retail prices, and beds can be delivered to homes for a nominal fee, or to the respective school if preferred.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, December 6, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the school. BoosterBeds will most likely turn to various professional printing services to promote the fundraiser, as it handles all the materials for marketing as well.
