Growing vegetables at home brings with it many benefits, and these will be on the slate for discussion by the participants in an upcoming home horticulture workshop.
An agent from Clemson Extension Greenville County’s Horticulture and Health will be sharing their expertise during the Growing Health class. It will equip the attendees with knowledge they can use in their own garden, and a special guest speaker will also address the group.
The session, which is free to attend, will introduce ways homeowners and renters alike can grow at least some of their own food, even if they only have a small amount of space. They will also learn how they can then harvest the fruits of their labors and use it to craft tasty, healthful meals. More people are becoming interested in growing food at home, and a workshop can provide a way for them to get started. Handouts provide a way for the organizers to share additional information, and these can be prepared by area Stationery printers.
This introduction to the benefits of home vegetable horticulture will begin at 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 22. It will be held at 352 Halton Road in Greenville, and anyone who feels it could be useful to them is welcome.
