Data provider DC BLox has chosen Greenville as the location for its next data center, creating jobs and investment in the region.
The company made the announcement on Wednesday, promising to build a new $200m state-of-the-art facility with more than 45,000 sq. ft. of data storage space on a six-acre parcel of land in southeast Greenville.
Initially the data center will employ five high-paying and highly skilled positions, and more will be expected to be created in the future.
The building will also feature 10,000 sq. ft of office space, conference rooms and hoteling cubes, where cubicles and workstations are shared by more than one employee.
DC Blox sets up data centers in smaller centers in the southeast United States. It already has centers in Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. Greenville is DC Blox’s first location in South Carolina. The data centers connect local businesses and governments with reliable, secure, high-speed data networks that allow them to better connect with a global audience.

The new DC Blox Data Center will be located in Global Trade Park, 28 Global Drive in Greenville. It will be close to the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) campus. It is expected to open in the third quarter of 2021.
