Startup Weekend is coming to Greenville in this month, offering a three-day event during which all kinds of entrepreneurs can build a business from the ground up while racing against the clock.
Over the weekend, there will be speakers from successful ventures, along with coaches and mentors to provide assistance to teams. Managing director Marty Bauer and instructor Sam Kapila from the Iron Yard, where the event will take place, are just two of the nine mentors, speakers, and coaches.
By the end of the weekend, a panel of local personnel will judge the ideas that the teams have created. There will be five people on the panel and they include Anna Locke, the president and founder of the accounting management firm A.T. Locke; David Pence, CEO of the technology firm AcumenEdge; John Warner, CEO of digital platform InnoVenture LLC; Mike Okupinski, co-owner of craft beer store The Community Tap, Mike; and the founder of the networking event Tech After Five, Phil Yanov.
Startup Weekend is a nonprofit based in Seattle that works with organizers from local communities to host these 54-hour events all around the world. Most likely, the organization is working with some local Print companies to create mailers to send to entrepreneurs to generate enthusiasm and participation.
