Greenville mini-golf challenge aims to keep community clean and green

Greenville residents are encourages to pick up a putter and hit the greens to help keep their community green and clean.

Hit the Greens with Keep Greenville County Beautiful is a family-friendly event that includes a mini-golf tournament, among other games and activities. Though it is still happening at the time of writing, it would be advisable to check nearer the time in light of COVID-19 protection measures being put in place.

Participants in the mini-golf tournament are asked to choose a tee-time of 10:00 am or 11:00 am. Two people will be in each team.

This is the first mini-golf tournament put on Keep Greenville County Beautiful (KGCB), which is the local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB). KGCB was founded by Dan Powell in 2008 and since then has been responsible for the local Cigarette Litter Prevention Program, as well as initiating recycling programs in close to 30 Greenville-area schools and 6 county recreation centers.

Today, KGCB actively participates in the Great American Cleanup and many other smaller community cleanup events, as well as community tree plantings and so much more.

For the mini-golf tournament, there is free parking available at the event site as well as across the street. The Sears Recreation facility will act as the alternate location in case of rain or bad weather.

Community events such as this one can benefit from services from local Print shops, such as flyer and banner printing.

The event takes place Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at McPherson Park, 120 East Park Avenue in downtown Greenville.
