The coronavirus global pandemic has postponed the Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays until May, city officials have announced.
The weekly music series that happens every spring in Greenville was supposed to begin March 20. Every Friday, live musical acts perform on Main Street at NOMA Square.
Thousands of people attend the Friday-night event to listen to some of the best local regional and national acts. Music ranges from pop, to blues and jazz, to salsa and swing.
The lineup for the summer series had been announced weeks ago. At present, it is unclear if some of the musical acts that were slated for shows in March in April will be rescheduled for other Friday nights or other dates.
There are family-friendly activities with a children's area with inflatable play structures. There is also food for sale. Vendors at events such as this can use professional printing services for their Menus and signage.
Admission is free. There is seating available at NOMA Square, however the seats fill fast so organizers advise attendees bring their own lawn chairs.
Greenville Heritage FCU Main Street Fridays is now scheduled to begin Friday, May 15. NOMA Square, 220 North Main Street, opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 9:30 p.m. Musical acts are scheduled to perform two sets, one at 5:50 p.m. and a second at 7:40 p.m. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, check the Greenville city website to confirm dates and times.
