A Founder Institute entrepreneur training program in Greenville will be starting this summer thanks to Jason Premo, cofounder and mentor of the local program.
The Founder Institute is a training and startup launch program for entrepreneurs, helping those across the globe who want to own their businesses and build lasting technology companies. The Swamp Rabbit Angels is Premo’s angel investment group and is sponsoring a Diversity Fellowship for those minorities that might encounter obstacles in achieving their goals.
According to Premo, the scholarship will help to increase the diversity of those who want to start up businesses in the community, and increase the number of candidates who will make for good investments. It will also give exposure of a proven system to startup hopefuls and connect them with mentors in the real world.
Vice president of diversity and inclusion at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Nika White, added that this scholarship will provide more support for inclusion of minority groups in the business community of the upstate.
There will be a free event on May 5 at the NEXT Innovation Center in Greenville to get an overview of the entrepreneurial process and what the institute has to offer. The use of brochure printing with more details about the courses and how to apply for the scholarship is one way the institute can get the word out about the program.
