An old farmstead just northeast of Greenville is set to host another celebration of bluegrass, blues, folk, roots, and acoustic music.
The Albino Skunk Music Festival will once again bring world-class musical talent to the hills of rural South Carolina. The oddly-named festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary this October.
The festival is three days of camping, busking, jamming, and live music onstage. It also features food trucks, craft beer for sale, vendor booths, and a zone with children’s activities and entertainment. The musical lineup this fall includes The Larry Keel Experience and The Tim O’Brien Band.
The festival got its name from the numerous sightings of white skunks in the area around the festival. The Albino Skunk Festival is one two annual events held at the music/camping venue. Every spring the site is home to the SpringSkunk Music Festival. Both are referred to as just “Skunkfest” to regular fans.
Unfortunately for music fans still wanting to go, this year’s festival is sold out. However, there are still opportunities for vendors and sponsors to join. Events like music festivals are opportunities for sponsors and vendors to advertise with banner printing.
Artists that have performed at the festival in the past include The Avett Brothers and The Steep Canyon Rangers.
The Albino Skunk Music Festival begins Thursday October 3, and ends on Saturday, October 5. It takes place on Susan and Glynn Ziegler’s old farm at 4063 Jordan Road in Greer, South Carolina, just north east of Greenville.
