Quakertown prepares to run in 5K

An upcoming event will provide an opportunity for healthy exercise for the community, with all proceeds benefiting a worthy cause.

Quakertown United Methodist Church and Quakertown Rotary together present the 15th Annual Habitat For Humanity 5K. One benefit of running this rolling course is the challenges it presents for all runners, both experienced and novice.

Indoor bathrooms and registration, a post-race buffet, awards, and also a raffle for fun are sure to make this an entertaining event for the whole family. Also, it presents an opportunity to use Promotional Products.

The first event will be a Kids' 3/4 Mile Run, costing $7 per participant, for which registration will end on November 28. This event will begin at 9:30 am EST and is open to kids of all ages. The course is flat, and monitors will guide the participants at every turn while controlling traffic. Ribbons will be awarded to all participants who finish.

One of the next two events will be the 5K, costing $27.50 per participant, on a course well marked with rolling hills on lightly traveled roads, beginning at 10:00 am EST. Awards will be given in five-year age groups. The third event will be a 5K No Shirt, costing $22.50 per participant, which will also start at 10:00 am EST.

The Quakertown Rotary Habitat 5K will be held on Saturday, November 30, beginning at 9:30 am at Quakertown United Methodist Church. Proceeds will benefit the Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.
