The 10th annual Oktoberfest is set to be hosted near Quakertown this October.
For nearly 10 years, thousands of visitors from Quakertown and other communities near and far have attended the German-themed Oktoberfest each year. This festive event features perks including German and Polka music, arts and crafts vendors, dachshund racing, and foods such as strudel, kraut (cabbage), wurst (sausage), and potato pancakes. When organizing related events, hosts often use poster printing to showcase festival details at numerous locations.
The seventh accompanying Yuengling Oktoberfest 5k race is also set to return along with the festival. The racecourse will be located in the Bethlehem SouthSide and Historic District. Runners will each receive a race shirt and an Oktoberfest mug.
Those who wish to register for the race can sign up online at $50 per individual. The registration fee on the day of the race day will increase to $60 per person. All fees will benefit the nonprofit Artquest organization, which hosts art-related programs and events throughout the community.
The 2020 Oktoberfest is scheduled to occur in Bethlehem from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4 and then the following week from Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11. Times are 5:00 pm 10:00 pm on Fridays, 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Saturdays, and 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sundays.
