Bird nest box event to be hosted near Quakertown

The Bluebird Workshop for creating nest Boxes is set to take place close to Quakertown this February.

The Peace Valley Nature Center will be hosting this event. The center was originally founded in May 1975 and continues to preserve local wildlife and natural areas, and provide visitors with educational and recreational workshops, events, and trail hiking opportunities to explore the largely untouched surrounding landscape.

During this one-and-a-half-hour workshop, participants from Quakertown and other nearby areas will learn about the habits and behavior of bluebirds and other local avian species. Each person will have the opportunity to construct a bluebird house to put outside when bluebirds begin scouting for nesting cavities over the next couple of months. Flyer printing is preferred by many organizers of similar in-person events to distribute printouts to participants that feature important event details.

Members of the Peace Valley Nature Center can purchase admission for $20 per individual, while non-members can attend for a fee of $25 per person. Participants are advised to each bring a Phillips-head screwdriver to use for constructing nesting Boxes.

This nest-making workshop is scheduled to occur on Saturday, February 20 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. In case of severe weather conditions, the Peace Valley Nature Center is prepared to host the event the next day on Sunday, February 21 instead.
