For women who are expecting their first child, the prospect of going through the labor and delivery process can be a frightening one, but an online workshop organized by Philadelphia area’s Crozer Health will help them get prepared.
During the Virtual Breathing & Relaxation Therapies for Labor learning session, women and their birthing partners will discover how breathing and other techniques often help to make labor and childbirth easier. It will be a one evening class, and registration is mandatory.
Expectant mothers will find out how to control their breathing, which can help to prevent hyperventilation and take their mind off the pain. The planners explained that this can be especially important to anyone planning to avoid the use of pain medication, and it can also be helpful even if they decide to get an epidural or use another medication to keep themselves comfortable.
Taking part in a breathing workshop will give women one more item for their labour and delivery toolbox, and they are encouraged to participate along with their partner and other members of their support team. An online event like this can be paired with a program that sends out pamphlets and other informational materials prepared by a brochure printing company.
Cozer Heath has made plans to offer this activity on January 7. Registration can be completed by visiting the Eventbrite listing prepared for the occasion.
