A variety of Philadelphia’s service organizations have joined together to support a project that will provide kids with materials for the upcoming school year.
PHILABAG, Nia Bailey Books, and the Ricky Codia Foundation have partnered with the ITAVT Foundation to support the annual Back to School Community Day. It will run for seven hours at the MQ Factory-Ricky Codia Studio on Leverington Avenue, and tickets can be reserved free of charge.
The function will offer an expo-style area where parents, guardians, and others can learn about some of the community resources that may be helpful to them, and a backpack giveaway will distribute school materials for as long as supplies last. Live music and other entertainment is in the works, and free haircuts will be available. Health screenings, a photo shoot, games, and food trucks will round out the gathering.
Neighborhood gatherings and other events can help to build strong communities. A poster printing company can provide a range of assistance to organizers, including crafting promotional Pens, stickers, lanyards, and other small items to use as swag on the day of the event.
The annual Back to School Community Day will be sending kids back to their classes with plenty of supplies on Saturday, August 10. It will be open to the public from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
