The city of Philadelphia has a couple of events planned for this Independence Day that should appeal to the whole family.
The first one, the Historic District Block Party, will take place on July 3 on 5th and 6th Streets between Market and Chestnut from 12:00 noon to 7:00 PM. Three stages will be providing musical entertainment throughout the afternoon and will include a Dixieland band and a barbershop quartet. There will be recreations of historical speeches and a sneak preview of this year’s Broadway Philadelphia Series at the Kimmel Center. There will also be food and arts and craft vendors, and traditional kids’ games such as wheelbarrow and three-legged races.
The Party on the Parkway is taking place on July 4 on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway also from 12:00 to 7:00 PM. It is set to feature activities such as a zip line and family-friendly games, cultural performances, and a concert. Some of those performing include Mary J. Blige, Tony De Sare, and Mandy Gonzales. The evening will finish off with a firework display set to music, which will take place at the Philadelphia Museum of Art at 9:30 PM.
Both of these events are free and presented by WaWa Welcome America! For more information, call 215-683-2200.
In order to advertise the many events taking place on Independence Day, organizers often invest in poster printing services from Philadelphia printing firms.
