Christmas celebrations continue in Philadelphia

The Franklin Square Holiday Festival is still in full swing and will be until the end of this month.

The main draw is the ‘Electric Spectacle: a Holiday Light Show’ which features more than 50,000 lights. There are two shows each day and a member of the public is chosen each day to ignite the show.

Food, craft beers, and hot drinks are available for purchase, and a holiday market allows people to pick up some last minute holiday gifts. Some special events include Santa Saturdays, where kids can pose for free pictures or enjoy milk and cookies with Santa.

The Philly Pops are performing daily and there will be craft activities for the children. Other activities include Philly mini golf, rides on the Parx Liberty Carousel, and rides on the Lightning Bold Holiday Express.

There is also set to be a Kids' New Year's Eve countdown on December 31 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It will consist of a square drop, a kids’ dance party, and fireworks.

This Philadelphia festival is likely to attract thousands of visitors from all over the city, and local Stationery printers may have helped to spread the word by supplying Flyers.

The Franklin Square Holiday Festival is continuing at Franklin Square until December 31. Admission is free, although some activities have a fee. Call 215-629-4026 for more information.
