The 5th annual South Street Spring Festival is taking place next month, presented by the South Street Headhouse District.
This popular festival is expected to draw at least 50,000 visitors this year, and there is sure to be something to appeal to all interests.
Approximately 200 vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts, food, and general merchandise. Nonprofit organizations will also be there to provide information to the public.
Entertainment will be provided on three stages with over 40 musical acts slated to perform. The festival grounds will also feature seven performance areas. Visitors can also take in the Philly Taco Challenge as a spectator or a participant. Atomic City comics will be there to celebrate Free Comic Day with handouts.
A popular attraction at the festival each year is Maifest, which is a celebration of German culture. Guests can enjoy German beer and food, watch traditional dancers, and listen to music. It is also the location of a giant maypole.
Flyers will likely be distributed all over Philadelphia to advertise this popular event; either through the mail or as newspaper inserts.
The South Street Spring Festival will be held between Front and 8th and 2nd from South to Lombard on May 6. Admission is free. To learn more about planned activities, or to become a sponsor, call 215-413-3713.
