The 8th annual 2nd Street Festival is taking place next month in Philadelphia, presented by the Northern Liberties Neighbors Association and the Northern Liberties Business Association.
The festival will close off the seven blocks between Germantown Avenue and Green Street. There will be stages set up on Brown Street and Germantown Avenue that will present a number of musical groups. In past years, the performers have included the Northern Arms, JaE, The Whips, and Hello Strangers.
There will be plenty of food for purchase and beer gardens to help escape the heat. An artists’ market will feature handcrafted and unique items for sale. There will also be workshops and access to the bike-share Corral Service.
Organizers are still looking for volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the festival. They are also openings for sponsors to make sure the festival goes on next year.
This event will be a good opportunity for local artists and musicians to get city exposure; many can hand out Promotional Products to make sure no one forgets their name. No doubt residents of Philadelphia who live in other neighborhoods will take the time to visit.
The 2nd Street Festival will be held on August 7 from 12:00 – 10:00 PM. Contact the Northern Liberties Neighbor Association at 215-627-6562 to find out the latest information.
