Savvy gardeners know that a seed swap can help them to stretch their landscaping budget. Three local organizations will be working together to organize an event that has been planned with the green thumb in mind, and North Versailles gardeners are invited to join the crowd.
This event is being offered to the public at no cost, and it will offer activities for all ages. While the older attendees browse through the plants and seeds and ask questions of the experts who will be on hand, the kids and teens can participate in the activities that have been included in the agenda just for them.
Both seeds and live plants will be offered during the seed swap, and it can be a great opportunity for gardeners to add to their collection and obtain heirloom varieties and other cultivars that may not be easy to obtain in the general horticultural trade.
A photo booth will be on site so people can snap some fun photos, and they will also be invited to share their stories of seed saving success. A raffle has also been planned, and a printing services provider can supply garden checklists, promotional Pens and other items that can be given to those who come to an event like this so they can make the most from the day.
This chance for people to get a jump start on the upcoming gardening year will be held on February 23rd. The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will be hosting the occasion.
