North Versailles foodies to brush up on shucking skills

A North Versailles eatery that puts shellfish front and center is hosting an evening that will help oyster lovers collect their seafood of choice.

It will teach the attendees how to shuck safely, and while they practice these techniques, they will learn more about this popular and tasty bivalve.

In February, a group of learners will gather at Muddy Waters Oyster Bar and don a pair of cut resistant gloves to being their shucking experience. Each regular ticket holder will receive 18 oysters, and a VIP-style option is also on offer for anyone those who are looking for a little bit extra.

Once the group has assembled for the activity, the shucking lesson will begin. They will learn a variety of techniques that will allow them to open oysters safely, and they will also discover the various methods that are used to raise these shellfish in a sustainable manner. There will also be a tasting session, and the attendees are welcome to bring along a bottle of their favorite wine or other beverage.

Those who purchase a regular ticket for this activity will receive the instruction as well as oysters and cut-resistant gloves. Those who choose the VIP option will receive all of this plus a shucking knife and an assortment of Corporate Gifts branded with the Muddy Waters Logo Design.
