Grow Pittsburgh provides a variety of grassroots level initiatives to help keep the city green, and it has set the date for the North Versailles area annual Garden Get Down.
This plant-themed party will celebrate the joys of home horticulture and also shed light on how projects such as neighborhood gardens and other activities can benefit the community. It will bring together green thumbs, community members, educators, and many others for a fun-filled evening at Grist House Craft Brewery.
The gathering, which is for all ages, will be filled with fresh food and an assortment of beverages, and there will be plant-related activities on the agenda. While they enjoy the festivities, attendees will be invited to learn more about Grow Pittsburgh, the projects it has taken on, and how they can get involved. A seed swap, garden tours, and awards ceremony are all in the works.
Seed swaps, lectures and presentations, and pop-up planters’ markets can be all be popular among those who enjoy the community benefits that come with gardening, and a flyer printing company will be happy to help get the word out to as many as possible about an upcoming activity.
The 2024 Garden Get Down will be celebrating the city’s dedication to going greener on Tuesday, August 13. It will run from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
