Point Park University Center for Management Excellence is presenting a workshop entitled "Effective business communication" on July 12 from 8:00 - 11:00 AM. Tickets are $40 and a continental breakfast is included.
The workshop will be led by Rex Gatto, the executive director of the center. Those who attend will learn the skills necessary to become an effective speaker; they will also learn how to be an effective listener. Attendees will be shown examples of different styles of communication, techniques to use in meetings and how to use the audience to get their point across effectively. Basically, they will learn speaking skills, listening skills, meeting effectiveness and how they can improve their future business communications.
No doubt, this event will draw business leaders from all over the area, including nearby North Versailles. In addition to learning how to communicate, it will also be an excellent networking opportunity for those in attendance. Making sure they arrange for a new business card printing order with their local printing company will ensure they have enough cards to give to anyone who asks for one.
For some business leaders, communication with their fellow leaders and with their employees is very difficult. It could be they never learned those skills before, they are not aware that they have problems communicating and have been recommended by others they attend or that they are extremely nervous when it comes to communicating with others. Workshops like this one help to make it easier for all business leaders.
