Hazardous waste disposal service on offer for North Versailles

North Versailles residents can take advantage of a program that will make it more simple and convenient to get rid of household chemicals.

Pennsylvania Resources Council has undertaken a variety of initiatives, and one of these is its Household Chemical Collection program. This is administered by a variety of volunteers and other community partners, and since it began back in 2003, it has been able to divert more than 5,000,000lb of chemicals from local landfills.

The organizer of this program explained that it is only intended for private households, and it will take place rain or shine. A flat fee of $20 will be charged for each drop-off, and the items to be disposed of will need to be placed in a truck bed or car trunk. Everyone will need to either have exact change or use a personal check to pay for this service, and they must remain in their vehicle throughout the process.

For a useful service like this, sending out mailers ahead of time that let them know where and when it will be held as well as what will be accepted can make it easier for them to take advantage of the opportunity. Print shops can craft these sorts of items, and can include whatever graphic design is desired.

The household hazardous waste drop-off day has been scheduled for August 15th at Boyce Park Four Seasons Ski Lodge parking lot. Additional information about this offer can be found on the Pennsylvania Resources Council website.
