Transition from BC3 to Penn State just got easier

An articulation agreement between Butler Community College (BC3) and Penn State means BC3 graduates can enjoy a smoother changeover to any one of the 14 Commonwealth campuses of Penn State.

BC3 President Nicholas Neupauer formalized the agreement with New Kensington campus Chancellor Kevin Snider. Those students with an associate degree from BC3 will be able to transfer into a comparable bachelor’s degree program at Penn State Commonwealth campus with all their accumulated credits being accepted. Six Penn State campuses are located in Western Pennsylvania: Shenango, New Kensington, Greater Allegheny, Fayette, DuBois, and Beaver.

Butler County Community College, which has its main campus in The City of Butler, bills itself as “The Smart Place to Start”. Now, with the articulation agreement, area residents have not only a smart place to start but smart places to continue their post-secondary education. Students planning their continued education at BC3 will now be inclined to browse Brochures describing programs at Penn State, along with those for Butler County Community College.

BC3 students who wish to transfer to Penn State are required to apply for admission and provide the required transcripts in addition to meeting Penn State’s admissions requirements. Those students will, however, have their application fees waived by Penn State if they are applying for a baccalaureate program. Moreover, a variety of scholarships are available for students transferring from community college.
