Firefighting skills building day planned for Butler

Firefighters put their lives on the line to help others, and a Butler training opportunity may help them to get the job done while keeping themselves as safe as they can.

Whether it's a paid service or made up of volunteers, the engine and truck companies of a fire department are often the backbone of the group. They perform a variety of tasks and the Arriving Minutes by GRIT Fire Training day may help. It will be offered at Butler County Community College, and will be a hands-on activity.

The listing for the event explained that it will get started with a brief presentation n and discussion, and after that, it will shift to an interactive experience. The learners will be working with live fire, running scenarios and getting in lots of practice. The participants will be using personal protective equipment ( PPE) including SCBA, Structural PPE and spare cylinders.

The cost to register for this learning opportunity is $75 each, and it will run for eight hours. Handouts and other learning materials, as well as certificate of completion to hang and display, can be prepared for any workshop or course by local Stationery printers.

Keeping their skills sharp may benefit both firefighters and the public they serve. This opportunity to learn new skills and put them into practice is set for November 12th. It will begin at 8:00 am.
