Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland, well known in the South, has now headed north to provide Butler County residents with a novel Christmas experience.
Starting the weekend before Thanksgiving and running through January 3, Shadrack’s drive through Christmas Wonderland light show will be set up at the Big Butler Fairgrounds.
Traditionally, Shadrack’s shows, which run simultaneously in several locations across the South, have drawn visitors from quite a distance, so having one less than 10 miles from the City of Butler is quite a coup. The company anticipates 100,000 visitors with some coming from as far away as Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
A variety of advertising option will doubtless be used, including perhaps a Direct Mail printing to civic organizations and community groups in the region to entice them into making the trip to enjoy the light show.
The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau pursued and successfully wooed Shadrack’s, and a five-year commitment to bring its light show here was agreed upon. Shadrack’s covers all expenses related to set-up and provides a fresh show theme each year. The company donates a portion of the proceeds in each city to a local charity. This year’s Butler show will benefit Pittsburgh’s Project Bundle Up.
The drive-through lightshow is open 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm each day and costs $25 per passenger vehicle, $40 per minibus, and $80 for a tour or school bus.Get a Free Quote for Direct Mail
