Downtown Butler to become a winter wonderland

This winter, Butler will be transformed as DiMartino Ice Company creates works of art from blocks of ice.

Businesses and the public are invited to purchase a block of ice, which an ice carver will then use to create a sculpture. The public can watch them as they go about their task, and the completed pieces will be put on display for all to see.

When its time to warm up, people can enjoy hot drinks, beer and wine tastings, live entertainment and the Carved in Ice Chili Cookoff. This competition will include both amateur and professional cooks, and the best entry in each division will earn both the title of “People’s Choice” and will receive a customized trophy and bragging rights. Members of the public can purchase tickets for $10.00 so that they can try out all the entries for themselves. Graphic design can be utilized to craft specially designed awards for an event such as this.

Butler Carved in Ice will be held on February 11th in Diamond Park and Main Street from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. Additional details and an opportunity to purchase a block of ice or register for the cookoff have been provided on the Rotary Club’s website.

Monies raised during the day will be used to support the Rotary Club in its efforts to help others, both locally and around the world.
