Butler hikers invited to hit trails for a First Day outing

While others may still be sleeping in after a night of New Year’s celebrations, a group Butler hikers will be taking a different approach to the first day of the year.

To celebrate the arrival of 2020, a First Day hike has been planned for the trails of Jennings Environmental Education Center. It is described as an easy route, and will wind through a beaver meadow, as well as a prairie and forest. The event is being offered as part of a larger event that will see people enjoy their first hike of the new year in state parks all across the country, and it can help to get 2020 off to a great start.

The hikers will cover a distance of about two miles during the outing, and it is free to get involved. The planners remarked that the trail is rated as “easy”, and the group of registrants are asked to be on site and ready to go by no later than 1:00 pm. Dressing in layers is highly recommended, as are water bottles and light snacks.

Offering the participants Corporate Gifts such as souvenir lapel pins or other items can be a fun way to thank them for being part of this sort of excursion, and many people find these small pieces highly collectable.

The participants in this New Year’s outing are asked to gather at 2951 Prospect Road in Slippery Rock for this chance to be part of a nationwide activity. It is expected to wrap up by 3:00 pm.
