Butler firefighters who have been looking for an opportunity to add to their skill set may want to check out a training opportunity that can help them take their abilities to the next level.
A 16-hour course has been prepared for firefighters who would like to learn more about the basics of running and working as part of a truck company, and it will be held at the BC3 Main Public Safety Training Center. The tuition and fees that have been set for the training is $40, and scholarships may be available for those who need some financial assistance.
During the workshop, the assembled group will learn about the fundamentals of truck company operations as well as the duties of the various members of the team. The selection and use of tools will be included in the discussion, as will forcible entry, advanced ventilation, and other fire control measures.
The course will be offered over a span of three sessions, and the participants will be able to ask questions and share their own best practices. Training manuals for a continuing education opportunity like this can be prepared by a printing services company.
Firefighters who would like to continue to add to the knowledge and skills they can draw on are welcome to register for this Butler activity. It will begin on September 13.
