Agriculture plays an important role in the Pennsylvania economy, and Butler will be the location for an event that celebrates the sector.
The Butler Farm Show will kick off August with an assortment of activities, exhibits, and demonstrations. It was organized for the first time back in 1948 as a way to bring city and rural dwellers together, and it has been going strong ever since.
The festival will include the Little Miss 4-H Butler Farm show contest, and there will be lots of livestock exhibits. Those wishing to enter one of the competitions will need to provide health papers for their animals upon their arrival, and as the pigs leave their trailers, they will be weighed. Art and craft exhibits and judging are on the agenda as well, and there will be entertainment, carnival-style rides, and food available for purchase on site.
