Butler residents who have an old cell phone, laptop, or personal computer and want to dispose of it responsibly will be able to do so later this month.
Commonwealth Computer Recycling will be on hand at the Westminster Presbyterian Church here in Butler, and gadget-lovers can bring in their devices to be recycled with no disposal costs.
A wide range of hard to dispose of items will be accepted. In addition to the above mentioned items, other accepted computer components will include tablets, LCD monitors, MP3 players, keyboards, printers, modems, and computer mice. Pretty much any item peripheral to computers or phones is allowed, but televisions are not included in this event. The option of off-site hard drive destruction is available for a $10 fee; those who wish to can even watch as their hard drive is removed and crushed.
For those who wish to show their appreciation for the convenience offered by this event, donations will be accepted by Westminster Presbyterian Church. The church is located at 420 North Main Street. Any questions about what will be taken at the April 26 event, which runs 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, can be answered with a call to (866)925-2354.
The success of this type of event is dependent on getting the word out to as many people as possible. Engaging a flyer printing service is a cost efficient way to inform the public in time for them to make arrangements to attend.
