Butler asked to roll up its sleeves and help local waterway

A Butler area waterway is in need of some TLC, and an event will give those who care about the environment a chance to lend it helping hand.

This September, the Allegheny Aquatic Alliance will be conducting its 8th annual cleanup project that will remove littler and other debris from Connoquenessing Creek. To date, this yearly activity has been able to remove 418,983lb of junk from the water, and this includes 4,445 tires. It is hoping that this year’s volunteers will also be able to make a big impact.

The group will be working in the stretch of the creek that runs between Butler and Zelienople, which is about 20 miles long. A community project like this can make a large impact, and it can be even greater if the organizers make members of the public feel like they are stakeholders in its efforts. Promotional Products that let area residents know that the activity has been planned can create a sense of community “buy -in”, and Print shops can provide them.

Tickets for the 8th annual cleanup of Connoquenessing Creek will go on sale on September 7. The activity itself will be taking place on the same date, with a large turnout hoped for so that the task can be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
