The 18th annual Regatta at Lake Arthur is taking place over two days next month. This event always takes place on the first weekend in August and attracts at least 20,000 visitors each year.
The Regatta is a combination of both land and lake events for people of all ages. Before they step into the water, guests will have the opportunity to get some instruction of various water activities from Summers Cool Eco-Recreational. There will be community sailing and races, the 3rd Pennsylvania SUP (Stand-up Paddling) championship which costs $20 to enter and is open to all levels of skill, and a marketplace.
Children’s activities will include crafts and games, a car cruise will showcase some classic cars, and Dock Dogs will be giving a demonstration. Guests can also enjoy musical entertainment from groups like Stationary Pebbles, the Celtic Martins, and Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers. In addition, there will be a native butterfly release, mountain bike trail riding, and mini-tours provided by Nautical Nature Cruise.
People from all over the area, including Butler, will likely want to spend a summer’s day on the water. A local printing company may be asked to provide products such as Flyers for advertising.
The Regatta at Lake Arthur will be held at Moraine State Park from August 6 to 7. Admission is free. Call 724-687-0707 for more information.
