Annual event funds scholarships for area students

The FAB (Fine Arts and Beyond) Showcase is taking place this April in Butler. The fundraiser helps out the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, and attracted more than 900 people last year.

The show features hundreds of works of art that have been created by children of all grade levels, as well as professional artists, which are then sold off through a silent auction. Entertainment will include student music and singing groups, professional musicians, and artistic demonstrations. There will also be a basket raffle, a 50/50 cash draw, and a cupcake bake sale.

Sponsorships are available from $100 up to $10,000, and all sponsors will have an advertisement placed in the program booklet. Local businesses and individuals are also asked to donate items for the silent auction.

The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation provides scholarships to graduating students in the Butler Area. It gave a total of 35 scholarships out last year.

It is very likely that a Butler printing company will be asked to provide the program booklet that all attendees will receive.

The Fine Arts and Beyond Showcase will be held at the Butler Area School District's Intermediate High School on April 18 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Admission is free of charge.
