Ohio University Lancaster is accepting applications now for its Kids in College program.
This is the 39th year for the effort, which is designed to help students from fourth to ninth grade reinforce what they learned over the school year. Among the classes are such topics as history, music, math, culinary skills, sports, chemistry, art, forensics science, and—no doubt a favorite—dinosaurs.
Qualified instructors, including faculty members from Ohio University Lancaster, teach the classes, using college material that is adapted for students in the program. The classes, which are designed to be hands-on, are limited in size so that instructors can provide individual attention to the students.
There are three weeks of classes, which are conducted in two sessions, morning and afternoon, five days a week. Morning sessions run from 9:30 am until 11:30 am, and the afternoons are 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm. A supervised lunch is scheduled from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm.
The first week of classes is June 11 through June 15, the second is June 18 through June 22, and the final week is June 25 through June 29. Since registration has been open for some time, interested parents should get in touch with the program as soon as possible. Further information and a registration form is available at the university website.
Mailers announcing courses like this can be produced by a flyer printing company.
