Paramount exhibit to transform with holiday decorations

The Decorative Arts Center of Ohio in Lancaster is holding “Distinctly Paramount,” an exhibit on fashion and costumes made famous by Paramount Picture’s movies. Next month, the exhibit will transition to its holiday-themed special programming.

Starting in early November, the venue will be decorated with a Victorian Christmas theme. Guests will see historically accurate décor when visiting the museum, along with special costumes displayed for the occasion. Organizers will also ready a workshop for making holiday scarves, which will be available to anyone in high school or older.

Visitors can still catch the exhibit’s regular programming. Hosted virtually by Randall Thropp, Paramount Picture’s current costume archivist, the exhibit will feature iconic garments from Paramount’s films. Many of the fashion pieces have previously been worn by Hollywood stars and were made by famous designers like Valentino. Events like these are often supported with printing services, so guests can expect Signs and labels to help guide them around.

The exhibit is currently open to the public and will run until January 2nd. The holiday programming will start on November 6th, with the scarf workshop taking place the same day between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The class is currently full, but if a spot opens, registration is $75 for the general public and $68 for members. Visitors can find the center at 145 East Main Street.
