The Fairfield County Heritage Council will hold a roundtable history talk this January.
This month's talk will be delivered by Jim Kehn and is titled “The Lincoln Funeral Train.” Kehn serves as a train historian, and gives regular talks in the local area.
The Lincoln Funeral train refers to the historic train ride that transported the coffin of President Abraham Lincoln across the country after his assassination. He was taken from the country's capital, Washington D.C., and transported to his hometown in Illinois to be buried. Patrons can come out for an evening of educational and thought-provoking historical insight into this journey, and its significance to the people.
The event is being held as a part of the General Sherman T. Williams Civil War Roundtable, which is a multi-state umbrella event. It facilitates scheduled talks where qualified historians talk about American History in the context of the Civil War, and serves to enlighten audiences with new information and perspectives.
The cost for entry is only $5. This event does not require reservations, and walk-ins are welcome.
Brochure printing is a helpful way to provide information to participants and attendees of the event.
The event will be held on January 19 at the Fairfield Community Church, located at 860 E. Mulberry Street, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. The event begins at 7:00 pm and ends at 9:00 pm.
