A cancer awareness 5K run/walk will be held in Lancaster this July.
The main goal of this event is to raise awareness about canine cancer, and organizers also hope to raise funding for treating dogs with the disease.
Families may look forward to a variety of foods, music, and other entertainment at the Hank Kabel Sarcoma 5K Walk/Run. There will also be raffles, exhibits, and silent auctions open and available to all attendees. Race winners will receive prizes and surprises, and there will be team competitions for those who can raise the most money. Winners will be rewarded on the day.
The race is an initiative by the Hank Kabel Sarcoma Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds through donations and events such as this to support its cause. Its specific focus is sarcoma, which is a rare type of cancer that affects the connective tissue. The foundation is named after the pet of the founders.
The cost for pre-registration will be $25. Sponsorships and donations are also welcome. All payments are non-refundable. People may also purchase tickets on the day of the event for $30 each. Banner printing can be useful in identifying the end of a race at events such as this.
The race will take place on July 9 at the Fairfield Fairgrounds. This is located at 157 E. Fair Avenue, Lancaster, Ohio. Registration begins at 7:30 am, and the event ends at 5:00 pm.
