A popular Lancaster event is returning for another year.
The annual Pumpkin Hike is now on the schedule, and will help to usher in the fun and festivities of autumn and winter.
The hike takes place at Alley Park, and includes not only the walk, but concessions and a bonfire as well. Charles Alley Nature Park offers a trail that runs almost four miles long, as well as the educational nature center. One of the highlights of the evening is the display of carved pumpkins, and organizers are now asking for volunteers to make sure there are plenty of pumpkins on hand. Banner printing can be used to provide the decorations for events like this, as well as marking the trail.
The timing of the events varies. The Pumpkin Hike begins in the parking lot at the Nature Center, and runs from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Concessions will be available in the lot from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm, which is also the time the bonfire will be burning. People who would like to join in the pumpkin carving should plan to spend the time from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at the Alley Park Barn. They will need to bring their own carving tools.
The Pumpkin Hike is scheduled for October 24, and participants are reminded that they may not bring their pets to the event, for the safety of both visitors and the animals themselves.
