Lancaster museum hosts workshop

The American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) will host an informative workshop this June in the town of Lancaster.

The event, titled Reimagining the Historic House Museum: A Transformational Workshop, aims to offer an educational space for museum owners and directors of local museums. It will target those particularly affected by the latest challenges caused by modernization. The session will offer ideas to overcome these challenges and revolutionize the way museums operate to create more cohesive and streamlined structures.

The program will feature topics such as insight into opportunities and threats facing society, techniques and tools that are field tested and studies. The workshop will conclude with a facilitated session of brainstorming where participants work together with workshop leaders to create innovative solutions for their museum programs.

The cost for attending this event will be $200 for AASLH members and $325 for non-members. Registration officially ends on May 22. The capacity of this event is limited to 35 participants. Those who would like to attend should purchase tickets as early as possible.

Poster printing can be one way to attract new audiences to museums such as this one.

The workshop will take place on June 22 at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio. This is located at 145 East Main Street, Lancaster. It begins at 8:30 am and ends at 5:00 pm.
