Lancaster will begin the holiday season by welcoming a special visitor.
The city has announced that its “Santa in the Park” activity is on the schedule again for this year, and will take place, as usual, in Charles Alley Park. Although the details of this year's event are still being finalized, a look at earlier celebrations reveal what park visitors can expect.
His fans will get to meet the Jolly Old Elf at the Goslin Nature Center, located on the shore of Lake Loretta in Alley Park. The building is in the style of a chalet, with large windows and a deck overlooking the lake. During the holidays, the building and windows are outlined with lights. In addition, lights are used throughout the park, with many outlining trees, and there are also lights floating in the lake. A nearby covered bridge is also decked out for the season with colorful wreaths.
Inside, visitors to the center will find a massive stone fireplace, and a towering Christmas tree reaching the ceiling, covered with holiday decorations. Santa has been observed seated in a rocking chair near the fireplace, while several of his elves put on a live show.
Santa will be at the park from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on December 10, 11, and 12. Organizers remind those who plan to attend to please leave all pets at home. Banner printing could provide festive decorations for events like this, suitable for use both inside and out.
