Fairfield Medical Center reveals plans

John “Jack” Janoso, the CEO and president of Fairfield Medical Center, recently announced that the hospital plans to build a new wellness and health complex on North Columbus Street, at its outpatient campus.

The facility will be located next to the existing River View Surgery Center. Although no date has been for construction, groundbreaking is expected to take place by early 2017.

According to Janoso, the center is undertaking the construction to position itself to serve the wellbeing and health of the community more effectively. FMC's commitment starts by understanding that the facility needs to concentrate on healthier lifestyles, but it also has to address the fact that patients need access to more convenient, accessible, and comprehensive services.

Janoso revealed the plans at FMC's annual ‘State of the Center’ speech, though he did not reveal how much the project is likely to cost. Brian Kuhn, Lancaster's mayor, said he believes the expansion will probably be somewhere in the mid-$20m range.

According to Janoso, the new complex will offer a range of services, including emergency care, diagnostics, health and wellness, women's services, rehabilitative measures, laboratory services, childcare, and pharmaceutical services. Janoso believes people feel more comfortable when medical aid is close by.

Janoso and other hospital officials might create Brochures to be mailed to the community, outlining the project, the services that will be offered, and a potential opening date.
